Positions and Duties

Registrar

  • The registrar collects all registration forms and fees, insures that the picture used on the player pass is adequate for identification and collects assigned player fees.
  • The registrar maintains the database relevant to the needs of the League and the State Association in regards to registration with the ISSA and USASA. This information is transmitted to the ISSA registrar or other appointed person of ISSA by the end of each season.
  • At the beginning of each season the registrar coordinates with the ISSA to insure that the appropriate number of registration forms are made available for SISL players.
  • Conducts the player registration sessions prior to the beginning of each season.
  • Every 30 days after the first registration session of the season reports the number of players registered to the league treasurer so they can ensure player affiliation fees are paid on time to ISSA. ISSA player affiliation fees are paid once per month during the season.
  • Is paid for registration services rendered as directed by the Executive board.
  • Attends all board meetings.
  • Has players fees paid by the league.

League Scheduler

  • Distributes the teams requirements, dates and fees prior to the beginning of each season under the direction of the board.
  • Receives all team registrations at the beginning of each season and develops a list of teams and divisions to be posted on the web page and distributed to all team captains and board members within one week after team registrations.
  • Schedules all league games and posts on web page.
  • Works with teams in following the league policies for schedule changes.
  • Works closely with the Parks department to insure the usage of fields for each season. Based on that information, informs teams and the board which park fields will be used prior to the beginning of each season.
  • Position is paid a per season fee for scheduling services rendered as set by the Executive board. And receives the rescheduling fees as directed by the board.
  • Attends all board meetings.
  • Has all player fees paid by the league.

Referee Assignor

  • The referee assignor maintains a list of all USSF registered referees willing to work SISL games.
  • Assigns all games according to requirements of USSF and the league.
  • Maintains communication between the league and referees.
  • Coordinates payments for the upgrade assessments of referees working SISL games.
  • Is responsible for attending all board meetings.
  • On an annual basis must maintain his or her USSF standings as an Assignor of which the league pays for his training and USSF fees.
  • Is paid for each game they assign as determined by the Executive Board.
  • Has all player fees paid by the league.
  • Understands that the referee assignor is a liaison position and does not have a vote on the board and is to excuse themselves during any disciplinary action or hearing by the Board.

Division Representatives

  • Are responsible to attend all SISL board meetings in which they provide information to the board about the needs of the teams from the particular divisions they are assigned.
  • Are responsible to notify the teams in their assigned divisions of the actions and notices of and from the board.
  • Should be in contact with the team captains and players in their division during the season to maintain an open relationship and maintain lines of communications. Representatives should contact teams no less than once every other week during the season. It is preferred by the League that the Division Representative communicates on a face to face level with team captains in their division.
  • Attends all board meetings to recap discussions with teams.
  • Has all player fees paid by the league.

Disciplinary Chairman

  • Will attend all SISL board meetings and report to the board any actions taken since last board meeting.
  • Handles all actions in relation to referee action taken as result of game sanctions such as cautions (yellow cards) and ejections (red cards) as outlined by the leagues general guidelines, policies and Code of Conduct.
  • After proper notification by player of intent for hearing due to referee action; will schedule the hearing and assign at least two other committee members but not more than six more members to assemble for a hearing.
  • The Chairman provides a written report of the hearing with stated charges and sanctions if made. All reports of sanctions will then be forwarded to SISL Secretary and ISSA within 10 days.
  • Has all player fees paid by the league.
  • Understands they cannot vote on any sanctioning action or hearing taken by the board as a result of any action they are involved in due to duties on the Disciplinary Committee.

Score Keeper

  • Attends all board meetings.
  • Maintains the league standings.
  • Determines the final standings and presents them at the first board meeting after the end of each season for approval from the board prior to posting the final standing on the league web page.
  • Has all player fees paid by the league.
  • Insures that all awards for presentation to first and second place finishers in each of the divisions are  ready for distribution to the appropriate teams during the team captains’ meeting after the end of each season.
  • Procures awards as directed by the board.
  • Recycles all awards that are not picked up at the captains meetings.
  • Is Chairperson of the awards Committee. As such recommends and coordinates all other awards to members of the association, individuals and teams as directed by the Board.
  • As Committee Chair of the Awards Committee develops league awards, criteria to be used, announces all nominations and maintains a list of nominees and recipients to present to the Board for further action.

Public Relations

  • Attends all board meetings.
  • Posts the league start dates in the newspaper prior to the start of each season as directed by the Board.
  • Posts the league start dates in the local information bulletins prior to the start of each season.
  • Maintains a list of contact people and news organizations for news releases.
  • Distributes news releases as directed by the Executive Board.
  • Helps to promote the league.
  • Has all player fees paid by the league.

Match Inspector

  • Works closely with Player Registrar, Referees and Disciplinary Chairman.
  • Attends as many games as possible throughout the season especially at the beginning and end to make sure all players on a team are legal. This is done by counting players for each team, checking rosters, checking cards and talking to Referees.
  • Make sure all Referees are abiding by league rules.
  • Hand out and manage Referee appreciation.
  • Collect unpaid violations from captains of teams prior to play.
  • Has all player fees paid by the league.
  • Attends all board meetings.
