7 vs 7 Division Rules

SOUTHERN IDAHO SOCCER LEAGUE RULES FOR 7 v 7 (Revised March 2024)

  • All FIFA rules apply unless otherwise specified.
  • Teams will play 7 vs 7 on fields approximately 65 x 45 yards.
  • Games will consist of two 45 minute halves with a 5-minute half-time.
  • Games will be officiated by one center referee. (The teams have the options to offer volunteer A/R’s for calling throw-ins.)
  • The offside rule will not be in effect.
  • No slide tackles. (Exception made for the goalkeeper when in the penalty box.) Slide tackles are prohibited and carry an automatic yellow card penalty if contact is made. If no contact is made during a slide, only a verbal warning will be issued upon the first infraction. Additional calls will result in a caution being issued. A keeper may be allowed to slide within the penalty area only, if in the referee’s discretion it was necessary for the play and no harmful contact was made.
  • The goalkeeper may not punt or drop-kick the ball, but instead can distribute with a throw, normal place kick or dribble kick.
  • The goalkeeper cannot cross the half line, therefore entering the offensive half of the field.
  • Unlimited substitutions on any dead ball.
  • Every player DOB must fall within the current calendar year.
  • No players currently registered in a competitive division are allowed to dual roster in the women’s O28 recreational, men’s O30 rec, the co-ed recreational, or the men’s O50 league.
  • Teams must have 4 players minimum to begin a game. Teams will be allowed a 15-minute grace period at the beginning of each game before a forfeit is called.
  • Teams are responsible for their own uniforms and each team will need matching shirts/jerseys and be able to provide an alternate color. If opposing teams are in the same color, the team listed first on the schedule will be required to change.
  • Team Registration Fee: $150
  • Individual player registration fee: $65 (or $35 if you played in the spring).
  • Referee fee of $35 for Coed and Men's or $30 for Women's O28 each game to be paid directly to the center referee.
  • Rosters will be limited to 17 players.

CO-ED:

  • Must have minimum 3 women and maximum 3 men on the playing field, excluding the goalkeeper.
  • Women’s goals count as one (1) point.
  • No individual male player shall be allowed to score more than three (3) points in any game (including overtime).
  • All drop balls MUST be taken by TWO (2) female players.
